Montessori pedagogy was developed by Maria Montessori in the early 20th century. Maria Montessori was not only an educator, but also a doctor, philosopher and researcher. Maria Montessori also developed educational materials, often in robust materials but with colorful shades that aimed to allow children to learn about both mathematics and size perception,

Montessori pedagogy has now been around for over a century. In Sweden today, there are over 300 preschools and primary schools with a Montessori focus. Want to know more about what Montessori pedagogy means? Click here .
